One of the most original games I've seen in the last 10 years would easily be "Beyond Good and Evil" and so it's about time I finally posted some fan art for it! The main character is a girl named Jade who is the main focus of this picture. Pey'j (the pig) is one of her interesting sidekicks and Double H (the man in the armor) is another sidekick that you meet later on. The bald man in the picture is Hahn and the cat person is Mei, they are both operatives of a secret organization called IRIS. As for the man in the bottom right, that's Peepers, he works in the Akuda bar and also seems to have his hand in IRIS as well.
In the game you're basically trying to stop an alien invasion. The DOMZ are a very nasty race of aliens and they have taken over the government, so the public is completely unaware of the invasion. Only IRIS knows the truth and that's your mission, to expose the truth to the masses and fight back! I love the atmosphere of the world in this game, it feels so incredibly alive and beautiful. It's a work of art! None of the music gets on my nerves which is rare, all of the characters are interesting and amusing, and the action is fast paced. If only the game were a little bit longer...
It's the only game I'd recommend for everyone to try out regardless of what genre or console you prefer. I have the PS2 version but I believe it's also available for GameCube, PC and XBOX. It's one of those hidden gems that deserves more attention and NEEDS more fans.
